Lino Cards

I've been busy carving, stamping and lino-printing lovely things for Creative Lane, handmade markets at Marrickville Townhall this Sunday! They are from 10am-3pm, there will be over 40 artists and there are live demonstrations and activities. If you are in Sydney it should be worth a look!

I will be selling original artworks, hand printed gift tags and gift cards, and badges with my designs as well as the hand painted postcards mentioned in the previous post!

Hand painted postcards

Postcards places

Postcards Paris India

These lovely little postcards are hand painted, and hand calligraphed (?!) and I'm so happy with how they turned out! I really love the Taj Mahal one, it would look cute in a frame. There is also a Leaning Tower of Pisa one which is not pictured, as well as a Statue of Liberty one, which is in the bin...

Elephant

Elephant

I decided to paint an elephant after reading The Elephant Whisperer by Lawrence Anthony. It's a lovely (and sometimes sad) true story about the rescue of a herd of neglected elephants, and how the author (an African reserve operator) eventually leads them to trust humans again. I can't recommend the book enough, I couldn't put it down!

Calligraphy practice

Calligraphy

CalligraphyThankyouTags

I've been playing around with a cheapo calligraphy pen my sister bought in practice for my other sisters wedding invitations. Clearly I don't have a clue how to do traditional 'real' calligraphy but I think it looks ok?

It's hard thinking of things to write to practice - in the top photo, the paper on the right lists the places Harley and I visited when we were in Europe.

He had to point out that I missed about ten places, I don't have his memory. Also the spelling is a bit iffy... The bottom image shows some gift tags I stamped and wrote on.

Stamping

Mushroom Stamp

Seahorse Stamp

Gingko stamp

Circle Stamp

I finally got my studio/office/spare room in order and have been carving some stamps. I used the Speedball carving tool purchased from here and a rubber carving block from Art on King in Newtown - I bought so much stuff from this store! The Speedball carving tool is amazing, it cuts so cleanly and easily.
